Built in 1833 by local banker Elias Brown, this early 19th century Greek Revival home located on three acres was converted to a five room bed and breakfast in 1994. The large common rooms include a formal front parlor with a Belgian marble fireplace and a music room featuring a baby grand piano and a 19th Century crystal chandelier. Other amenities at the House of 1833 include a beautifully landscaped swimming pool, a newly constructed Har Tru tennis court and six new 18 speed bicycles. Guests are invited to relax by the pool, enjoy a game of tennis or tour the countryside; compliments of the Inn. Whether it's a special occasion, a romantic weekend for two or just a fun filled getaway, the House of 1833 will help make your visit to Mystic a memorable one. The five guest rooms have private baths and are beautifully appointed with a variety of antiques and reproductions. Several rooms have canopy beds, some have a private porch or balcony, two have whirlpool tubs, and each has a wood burning fireplace adding to the romance that is the personality of the inn.
This property requires a two night minimum stay for all Friday and Saturday arrivals.
