Just off I 90, 30 miles west of Missoula, The Montana Hotel is a historic railroad inn, a charming reminder of simpler times. The historic inn is a great place for small group gatherings or reunions, and is an easy day's drive to Seattle. Built in 1909 as a Milwaukee Road railroad crew change hotel, major renovation in 1992 converted it to a modern country inn with early 1900's ambience. A full country breakfast, often accompanied by live harp music, is a great way to start the day. Guests can have it in bed if requested. In the afternoon, there are homemade brownies, cakes, lemonade, and other snacks to get rid of the guest's munchies. The comfortable lobby with fireplace and the homey dining room creates a cheerful setting for old fashioned, home cooked meals, and the dining tables have hosted rousing late night games of "Uno", cribbage, and Monopoly. For guests enjoyment, there is an ice machine in the dining room and business services are available.
