One of Galena's oldest and finest houses, it was built in 1836 by Captain Robert Harris, a Riverboat Pilot and Lead mine Owner. The home has retained the character of the past. Modifications such as floor replacements and adding 52 mission style leaded glass windows in the 1920's have enhanced its beauty greatly. Elegantly furnished with antiques, family heirlooms, historic artifacts, original artwork, and stained glass windows. A full hot gourmet country breakfast is included each morning. Guests are welcome to feel at home in the air conditioned living room and library, sampling the books, historical literature, or games & puzzles. The Living Room is equipped with a CD player, selection of soothing music, and a wood burning fireplace. In the foyer is an ultra filtered water fountain to provide guests with pure hot & cold beverages 24 hrs/day. The entire house is also a wireless Internet access point, providing free high speed Internet access, and Ethernet cables are available for use as well.
