This restored, 1885 Victorian bed & breakfast in downtown Gainesville is located just two miles from the University of Florida. The proprietors live in the third story of the Inn, provide a warm, friendly atmosphere, making guests feel like part of the family. A full breakfast is served daily at guests' convenience. All guests choose from dining in the formal dining room, one of the open porches at the Inn or garden gazebo. Cottage guests also have the option to have breakfast delivered to their door. Magnolia Plantation also offers complementary snacks and beverages throughout the day. Every evening a social hour is offered serving wine and snacks for all guests. The three story French Second Empire Inn is decorated in period furnishings. The Inn's architecture is the only example of its kind in the City of Gainesville and one of the only examples in the entire Southeastern United States. Situated on nearly two acres of land, the lush tropical gardens surround the Inn and Cottages feature brick walking paths, Charleston style courtyards, fountains, ponds and waterfalls.
