On a peninsula overlooking the Venda Nova dam, Estalagem do Morgado is a small inn dating back to the 1940s and the construction of the dam wall. The hotel was built to provide accommodation for visiting engineers and is next to Peneda Geres National Park, 55 kilometers from the Roman town of Braga. The twelve guestrooms have simple contemporary décor with wood floors and bright fabrics. All have bathrooms and include satellite television, telephones with free local calls, and minibars. Breakfast is served every morning and the restaurant offers a range of traditional Portuguese and local specialties. In the summer, guests can take a swim in the outdoor pool or enjoy a game of tennis; the library provides a calmer form of entertainment all year round and there is also a games room. Fishing and rafting are among the activities on offer in the region around Portugal's only national park. Porto Airport is located 110 kilometers from the hotel, a drive of approximately 90 minutes. Bus numbers 56 and 87 depart regularly from the airport to various areas in the city of Porto. The Aerobus connects the airport with many of the city's leading hotels and runs every 30 minutes. Taxis are available from in front of the terminal building and there are also a number of car rental companies operating at the airport.
