The A&O Hostel am Zoo is situated in the lively heart of downtown West Berlin, opposite the famous Zoo railway station which has excellent links to the center, and just 400 meters from Kurfurstendamm the main shopping center of Berlin. The 120 guestrooms are simply decorated in white or yellow, with wooden floors. Many have private shower rooms. Dormitories sleep up to eight.
The hostel offers a range of entertainment in its two bars, where guests can participate in karaoke, console games and billiards, as well as enjoying views of the city from the roof terrace. Close to a number of historical attractions like the Memorial Church dedicated to Wilhelm I (200 meters away, the Zoo Station offers excellent links to some of Berlin's more famous tourist attractions such as the Tiergarten (one stop, Brandenburg Gate (seven stops and the Reichstag (six stops. Berlin's Tegel airport is nine kilometers from the city centre a drive of 20 30 minutes. The JetExpressBus TXL, runs from the airport to the city and back every 10 minutes from early in the morning until late in the evening. The Express Bus Line X9 goes from the airport to Zoo train station which is opposite the A&O Hostel am Zoo. Taxis to the center cost around 15 20. Many of Berlin's attractions can be reached easily on foot, but the Zoo Station opposite the A&O Hostel am Zoo also offers excellent bus and train services into the city center.
