Natchez Trace Parkway
A 400 miles long and historic roadway stretches between Nashville, Tennessee, and Natchez, Mississippi. People have used the trail for hundreds, maybe thousands, of years, as it was walked by Native-Americas, traders, trappers, missionaries, postal workers and travelers. Today, visitors can experience this National Scenic Byway and All-American Road through driving, hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping. |

Tupelo National Battlefield
Tupelo National Battlefield, commemorates the July 13-14, 1864, Battle of Tupelo in which Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest tried to cut the railroad supplying the Union's march on Atlanta. Although the Federals retreated to Memphis after the battle, it was a Federal victory: Forrest was not able to interfere with Sherman's Georgia campaign. |

Brice's Crossroads National Battlefield
Located on MS Hwy 370 six miles west of Baldwyn, Tupelo also boasts historical battlefields of the Civil War, like the Brice's Crossroads National Battlefield where the Confederates defeated the Union troops in 1864. A one-acre site maintained by the National Park Service features a monument and two cannons. |
