Port
of Spain is the capital of Trinidad
and Tobago, located on the Gulf of Paria,
on the north-west coast of the island
of Trinidad. The city serves primarily
as a retail and administrative centre.
It also serves as a financial services
centre and is home to two of the largest
banks in the English-speaking Caribbean.
The tallest building in Port of Spain
is known as the Nicholas Tower.

Botanic
Gardens
The Botanic
Gardens covers an area of 38
hectares, located north of the
Queen's Park Savannah and adjacent
to President's House. It was
set out in 1818 by Governor
Ralph Woodford. It is home to
several varieties of tropical
and sub-tropical trees, along
with trees from India, Burma
and South America. |

Park Savannah
Over 400
acres park area, formerly a
large sugar estate. The savannah
is one of the island's foremost
centres of activity. The pitch
walk that encircles it is a
haven for fitness enthusiasts

is also including Carnival and
other cultural and international
concerts, location for many
of the country's most exciting

Military History & Aviation
Museum
The Museum
was founded by Gaylord Kelshall,
first opened its doors to the
public in 1992 and consists
of 12,000 square feet of indoor
displays along with outdoor
items and Memorials on a 4-acre
site. There is an exciting collection
of memorabilia is on display,
including uniforms, ammunition
and radio equipment used by
soldiers in World Wars I and
II. |

Museum & Art Gallery
The National
Museum is the most amazing and
memorable collections are housed.
Situated on a southeast panhandle
of the Savannah, the national
museum is located in a building
which has a definite Dutch style.
Some include depictions of Trinidad
and Tobago's national festival,
Carnival, life during World
War II, and artifacts from the
country's earliest settlers,
the Amer-Indians. |

Holy
Trinity Cathedral
Celebrated
the 175th anniversary in 1999,
Anglicans is one of the country's
oldest landmarks in Trinidad
and Tobago. In 1908, the original
building was demolished in a
fire. The church was rebuilt
in its present location with
help from the British Government.
The church splendidly reflects
Georgian and Gothic architecture,
and was consecrated on May 25,
1923. |
