Phuket formerly known as Tha-Laang or Talang, is one of the southern provinces of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are Phang Nga and Krabi, but as Phuket is an island there are no land boundaries. The island is served by Phuket International Airport, located in the north of the island. The most attractions of Phuket: Buddhist temple, Phuket FantaSea, Phuket Aquarium and Patong Beach.

Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay is one of the boat trips of northern end of Phuket. James Bond Island and Koh Pannyi are just two of the more famous spots in this bay. James Bond Island called Koh Ping-gan, made world-famous by the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun". Koh Pannyi, home to a remarkable Muslim village, the whole of it built out over the water on stilts. |

Kata Beach
Kata Beach is actually made up of two smaller bays, Kata Yai and Kata Noi. Located 17 kilometers south of the town. Visitors can swim, sail, windsurf, sunbathe and even scuba dive, as there is an extensive coral reef off Pu Isle, just in front of the beach. It provides all tourist related amenities such as accommodation, tour agents, shops and restaurants. |

Patong Beach

Wat Chalong
Wat Chalong is Phuket’s most important Buddhist temple and is the biggest and most ornate of Phuket’s 29 Buddhist monasteries. It contains a gilt statue of Luang Por Cham, the monk who became a hero when he helped quell the Chinese Coolie rebellion of 1876, during the reign of King Rama V. The wat also has a figurine of the famous archimandrite Luang Por Gluam. |

Phuket Aquarium
This aquarium features wonderful displays of both saltwater and freshwater fish. Highlight of the aquarium is a 10 metre long underwater glass tunnel. It is here that local adepts also hatch and breed young sea turtles for release into the sea. This is an significant part of the work of the aquarium since the turtles are an endangered species. This is also Thailand's major marine biological research station, the centre conducts research on tropical reef ecosystems, commercial fisheries, and other projects. |
