Marathon Wild Bird Rescue Center
The Marathon Wild Bird Center is the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned birds for eventual release into the wild. We strive to reduce the suffering of injured or ill wild birds and, through education, reduce the environmental hazards that place these birds at risk. Visitors can see many species of birds from throughout the Florida Keys area while visiting this center. |

Dolphin Research Center
Dolphin Research Center (DRC) is a not-for-profit education and research facility, home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. Over half of the family was born at the Center, while the other members either have come to us from other facilities or were collected long ago by previous management. |

Sombrero Beach
Our beach sand is special. Pick up a handful. Looking closely, you'll see it comes in many shapes. Some grains look like bits of oatmeal, other like miniature deer antlers. Fashioned by special algae which thrive in Marathon's warm waters, these specks contribute much of the sea bottom and beaches surrounding the Keys. |
