With a blast of its steam whistle, the locomotive chugs along a six-mile stretch of track at a leisurely pace. During the train ride, the Lahaina Kaanapali Railroad crosses a 325-foot curved wooden trestle whose elevation yields panoramic views of neighboring islands and the West Maui Mountains.

Kaanapali Beach is approximately three miles long, and is divided by a lava cliff, known commonly as "Black Rock" and by the Hawaiians as Puu Kekaa. The sands are warm and gold; the water is clear and flat. Each evening at sunset, there is ceremonial torch lighting and cliff diving at Black Rock, as sunny days give way to starry nights, this tradition enthralls the visitors.

Banyan Tree Park
Lahaina, visitors are sure to happen across this tree. The tree is well over 100 years old, and will probably endure for several hundred more years. It's 60 feet high and covers 200 feet of space. With 12 trunks and several hundred drooping branches, it looks more like a miniature jungle.
