Museum
fur Gegenwart
Museum
fur Gegenwart is the 19th-century
station, which becomes Museum
of Contemporary Art. The modern
art on display is some of the
finest in Germany; the nucleus
of the collection was donated
by the Berlin collector Erich
Marx. The museum houses one
of the best collections of the
work of Cy Twombly in the world
because the curator, Heiner
Bastian, was once his assistant. |

Filmmuseum
Berlin
Filmmuseum
Berlin, Hooray for Hollywood,
but remember that some of the
personalities that gave it glamour
and style came from Germany.
Actors Marlene Dietrich and
Peter Lorre, directors Billy
Wilder and Josef von Sternberg
came out of a country with a
strong film-making tradition. |
