Historic Sites & Interpretive Centres
Benares Historic House has been restored to reflect how
life was in 1918 at the end of World War 1. It is over 160
years old, and is full of early 20th Century technical advances.
Special interest programs are offered regularly.
The
Bradley Museum is set in an 1830 frame home. It is furnished
with original artifacts from the period, and has a working
kitchen. Attractive gardens surround the house and there
is a barn and a drive shed. The Anchorage- an 1830 Regency
cottage- serves as a tearoom and gift shop.
Parks, Gardens & Animals
Erindale Park features space for all-ages activities, including
trails for walking, skiing and cycling, playgrounds and
a toboggan hill. Several picnic sites are on the location.
An exceptional place to view the salmon run in late August/mid-September
is under the Burnhamthorpe Road bridge at the north end
of the park.
Kariya
Park was created in honour of twin-city relationship with
Kariya, Japan. The distinct vegetation includes the lavender
Iris laevigata (Kariya's official city flower), gingko and
sweetgum trees. This small park is open seven days a week.
Arenas & Sporting Complexes
The Hershey Centre is part of a major sports park development
known as the Sports Zone. The centre holds a variety of
events and is the home of the Mississauga Icedogs Hockey
Team.
Amusement Parks

Cultural Venues
Harbourside Playhouse is a year round, professional theatre

Living Arts Centre is home to the performing, visual, and
studio arts. In addition, there is a fine dining restaurant
and catered meeting facilities. The visual arts facility
presents the opportunity to learn how to paint, draw, form
pottery and more under the supervision and guidance of professional
artists.
